Summary
In the Junk Drawer Drama Workshop students use found and made objects to explore theatre making and story telling. Working in teams, they develop brief object theatre performance works based on a common fable.
Junk Drawer Drama Workshop opens the artist to an unselfconscious sense of play by changing the rules of who (or what) is the actor and how the world of the play works.

Duration: 3 hours
(Multi-session, week-long and semester-long programs also available)
Maximum enrollment: 25
Minimum space required: 20” x 20” studio
Student preparation: To the workshop each participant must bring three to five objects, which are neither fragile nor valuable, and might include toys, small appliances, packing or storage materials, tools, and other odds and ends.
Supplies and technical requirements:
•Chairs sufficient to accommodate participants and observers
•Video playback equipment (VHS and DVD)
•Four (4) 6’ or 8’ banquet tables
•Four (4) clip lights (inexpensive hardware store variety) with bulbs and four (4) extension cords
•Access to a prop cabinet/room and/or assorted objects (50 or more in addition to those brought by participants). None should be fragile or valuable.
•Assorted supplies including cardboard, colored paper, string, ribbon, glue sticks, scotch tape, masking tape, gel scraps, markers, and several small cardboard boxes of various sizes.
